The difference between Premium Porcelain and Fayence

Fayence and Premium Porcelain (also called Fine China) are two types of porcelain or material produced by Villeroy & Boch.

In 2011, Villeroy & Boch changed the production of certain series from fayence to Premium Porcelain, i.e. series that were previously produced in fayence quality have since then been made of Premium Porcelain, which has changed the appearance.

Fayence has a muted, creamy white tone, while Premium Porcelain has a pure white hue and a slightly higher gloss.
